Cost
Structure
The cost of an assay or screen may vary significantly.
Generally it runs between $0.1- $5 per data point.
It is determined on the basis of three components:
consumables, personnel time and machine time. With
exception of special reagents, such as purified
proteins or cell lines, ChemCORE orders all consumables.
Cost estimates will be given
prior to assay implementation.
Depending on the complexity of
assay, implementation will be
divided into several steps along
with cost estimates. After assay has been implemented and tested for
feasibility, the total cost may be
determined. Customers
may decide scope of screen including: the library
and number of compounds, number of duplicates, analyses
and follow-ups.
Within Hopkins, the billing will be done via direct
fund transfer. Non-Hopkins customers will be billed
by invoice and purchase orders.
